At Vantage Counseling, we bring over 15 years of experience helping students apply and get into their dream schools not just in the most prestigious school the United States has to offer, but across the globe. Whether your child is interested in a particular college, location, field of study, or is not yet sure what their best fit school would be, we bring the experience and proven track record of success to help them define and reach their goals.

I’ve worked with other college and university counselors before. What makes Vantage Counseling different?

When it comes to your high schooler’s success, it is never too early (or too late!) to positively affect your student’s university admission outcome. At Vantage Counseling, we understand that each year in high school presents unique opportunities for your student to develop personal capital, which is why we custom tailor our programs to suit your student’s needs depending on their grade level and point in the application process.

Is it too early/too late for my student to take a strategic approach to their application process?

The Vantage Counseling Personal Capital Framework has helped our students be accepted to [prestigious school here….]

What are the chances of my student being accepted to competitive universities?

12

03

Yes, our team of counselors have lived in and worked at some of the most prestigious schools in the US, Germany, India, Myanmar, Panama, Romania, South Korea, Vietnam, and Zambia. Our expertise in high school curriculum include Advanced Placement, Cambridge IGCSE, and the International Baccalaureate.

Can you help my student apply to international universities outside the United States?

With our individualized approach, we help students with unique talents, abilities, and interests prepare competitive applications and portfolios to speciality programs like dance, theater, music, architecture, and design. These programs require a heightened level of preparation and knowledge to prepare not only a competitive application but an unforgettable portfolio or audition.

Can you help my student apply to specialty schools and programs?

We have two former NCAA athletes on our counseling team and love working with prospective student athletes.
Not only do we have first-hand experience navigating NCAA recruiting and scholarships ourselves, we have worked with students around the world as they go after their athletic and academic dreams. We helps families understand the NCAA rules, timelines, and best practices for preparing and contacting coaches, attending official visits, manage NCAA eligibility, and choosing both the best academic and athletic fit for them.

Can you help my student apply for NCAA scholarships at competitive universities?

12

06

Absolutely! Through our counseling, students and parents learn about FAFSA, which is the free application for federal student aid. I’ll explain the different types of aid, how to apply, and research scholarships.

Can you help us understand the FAFSA and financial aid process?

Rest assured there are many thriving STEM programs available to students. Once I better understand your child, their interests, and needs, I’d be happy to make some recommendations.

Can you suggest some colleges with strong focus in STEM opportunities?

12

08

Absolutely! I will complete a full profile assessment with your child. I’ll analyze their personal, academic, and extracurricular profile when we first start working together. My goal is to make sure students have a balanced profile, identify any gaps that might exist, and make a plan to fill those gaps.

Can you provide feedback on my child’s extracurricular activities and clubs?

Sometimes the acceptance rate can be a difficult metric to find. Some universities share this information and some don’t. You will likely be able to find the acceptance rate by doing a quick Google. Keep in mind that these numbers are sometimes provided by a third party resource and may not be completely accurate.

What's the acceptance rate at [College Name]?

That’s why we are here! There are almost 4,000 colleges and universities in the United States (and that’s not even counting the international university opportunities open to your student!). With this overwhelming amount of options and possibilities, it can feel impossible to know where to start.

I’m not yet sure which schools would be right for my student.

his is why our 3-part Vantage Framework is crucial to your child’s success and well-being. By spending time working with your child on building their personal capital, we gain the insight we need to make suggestions and recommendations that best align with you and your child’s priorities. When you work with Vantage, you and your student don’t have to face this decision alone anymore.
